Will Martin
Living at D’Bah, originally from Coffs Harbour – Big Banana zone.G'day crew, I’m Will Martin, 17, now based on the Gold Coast. I grew up in the coastal town of Coffs Harbour where life was all about the ocean. Surfing, fishing, diving — I was into it all. Most days were spent with a tight crew or older mates, chasing waves and heading out on boats, always frothing for the next adventure. One of the biggest highlights of my life was when my family packed up in a caravan and travelled around Australia. It made me realise how much I truly loved the ocean. After months of croc-infested waters in North QLD, seeing the ocean again in Broome hit different. The West Coast served up five of the best surfing months of my life. We moved to the Goldie when I was 15 so my brother Luca and I could chase our dream of surfing on tour together. These days I’ve got an epic crew of mates, and we’re always up to something — chasing waves, fishing missions, or just stirring up a bit of mischief. I started surfing at 3, getting pushed into shorebreaks by Dad on my first Christmas foamy, and the obsession kicked in from there.

THE MAD HUEYS Q & A
1. Most Memorable Surf:
That big G-Land swell last year with a few of the boys – barely anyone out and the wave was firing. My 6'6 felt like a shortboard.
Also, the Cyclone Alfred swell at Kirra and Currumbin. Spent heaps of time on the ski and getting pumped, but the waves were perfect – all-time swell.
2. Most Memorable Fish Caught:
Speared a jewie off McCauley’s Headland in Coffs when I was 13 – bigger than the gun I was using. Got dragged around the headland, bent the shaft and cooked the wettie climbing back in… but landed it.
3. Most Memorable Celebration:
When all the boys load up the tinnys and head up our local creek for a camping mission – always ends up being one of the best nights 💪
