G’day legends, I’m Oscar – a 22-year-old surfer who grew up in the small coastal town of Yamba. That little town shaped me: if you weren’t surfing, skating, or fishing, what were you even doing?
These days, I’m chasing a dream – qualifying for the World Surf League’s Championship Tour through the Challenger Series. I’m all in – 100% focused on being prepped and ready to take on the best. That said, I’m also making sure I enjoy the ride, exploring the world with my best mates and soaking up every moment of this journey.

THE MAD HUEYS Q&A
1. MOST MEMORABLE SURF
Hands down, a recent trip to Sydney with The Mad Hueys crew. Copped some of the best (and scariest!) waves of my life – then kicked back on the boat with the sickest crew. Unforgettable sesh.
2. MOST MEMORABLE FISH CAUGHT
When I was 12, I scored an 80cm flatty deep in the mangroves of Yamba. I’d just got a fishing kayak for my birthday, was trolling a hardbody lure when it got slammed. At the time it was the best fish I’d caught, and I was frothing – solo kayak mission, flathead of doom, young me buzzing out of my brain. Classic!
3. MOST MEMORABLE PARTY
Two big ones:
1. After qualifying for the Challenger Series for the first time, we tore up Newcastle. Joel Vaughan won the event, and a bunch of the boys hit the town. The band “The Good Kids” pulled us up on stage – full singalong, loose vibes, absolute ripper night.
2. Then after my win in Siargao – that place is unreal. I shared the final with one of my best mates, Xav Hux. Singing, dancing, full-blown celebration island-style. It was all-time.
