CAPTAIN BLACK BEARD
Narrabeen, New South Wales
Born and bred in Narrabeen on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, fishing’s always been in my blood. My old man was a commercial handline fisherman, so it was never really a hobby… just life. I’ve spent my life across all angles of the fishing world - tackle stores, seafood processing and distribution, overseas charters, and custom rod building. I’ve also been a proud ambassador for TMH since 2012. About 18 months ago, I pulled the pick and set sail with the family to the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, which we now call home. I work for a not-for-profit organisation, teaching people from all walks of life how to fish - kids, families, and all-abilities groups. When I’m not doing that, or looking after four kids, a dog, 22 goldfish, and three chickens, I’m chasing tail - land-based or off my own vessel. A lifelong obsession with mulloway, aka the Silver Ghost.
