CHASE HARDAKER

Bronte, NSW

Chase was born and raised in Sydney, grew up at Bronte from a young age where his passion for the ocean began. Growing up, there was no other option but to surf when there were waves and fish when it was flat.

In his later teens he decided that he wanted to be a lifeguard down the beach and was lucky enough to get on board from a young age. This has helped him in the past few years continue what he loves doing, hanging down the beach, being amongst the community and constantly learning from the ocean. Since school this has allowed him to travel a lot and chase waves and fish all around, both in Australia and Internationally.

"I'm all about just getting out there and having a go. Adventures are always worth it even the bad ones still have a good story to tell."

Chase is hoping to get down to shippys by the end of the year, chasing swell at Theapou to Strikey. He also hopes to get outside the Sydney Circus and head to the north coast for a fishing trip.

THE MAD HUEYS Q&A

What's the heaviest wave you've ever paddled into?
Probably Cape Solander or one of the bigger days around Sydney. Those sessions definitely get the heart rate going, but that's what keeps me coming back.

What does being part of The Mad Hueys mean to you?
It's about surrounding yourself with good people who love the ocean as much as you do. Surfing, fishing, having a laugh and making the most of every opportunity.
